SUMMER YOUTH MINI GRANTS PDF Print E-mail
GRANTS > SUMMER YOUTH MINI GRANTS >  |  APPLICATION >

Wild Rivers Community Foundation is committed to supporting children and youth and values programs that offer opportunities for them to learn, play and develop in a safe, productive setting while school is not in session.  We recognize that organizations offering summer programs for children and youth are integral to providing those opportunities.

Small grants are awarded to agencies to expand and enrich summer recreation programs for Del Norte and Curry County children operating between June and September.  Grants are normally made for expenses such as sports and recreational equipment, arts and craft supplies, special events and field trips and camperships for low-income participants.

The Summer Youth Program often provides grants to help defray the costs of transportation for field trips and mobile services.  The Del Norte County Library’s Wonderbus was supported through one such Summer Youth Mini-Grant in 2006.

“Keeping our mobile literacy lab running when gas is over $3.00 a gallon is a challenge.  Helping our kids keep their reading skills during the summer is a greater challenge.  The Foundation made it possible.”

- Patricia Hector, Director, Del Norte County Library
